THE MARL CAVES
Unique passage (run) through the caves
THE CAVES OF KANNE
The marl quarry of Kanne is one of the most beautiful and unique limestone caves, with a total underground network stretching over 16 kilometers. It is an untouched, authentic underground landscape with high corridors, some more than 8 meters tall.
The non-profit organization De Grotten van Kanne organizes daily guided tours, taking you to the most remarkable spots of the cave system. Tickets and detailed information can be found on their website.
From 2024 onwards, we are working closely together with the organization to offer our athletes an extraordinary experience: a 600 m underground passage each lap, passing by highlights such as the prehistoric Mosasaurus. Enjoy the silence (spectators are not allowed inside) and the refreshing coolness (12°C).
Tip: Arrive in Kanne a bit earlier on Saturday and book a ticket to explore the caves yourself. Guided tours start at 13:30!
